Sidney Jones (1894-1975)

Born in England, Sidney came to Seattle when he was 3 and began organ lessons when he was 6. He graduated
from Broadway High School.
 
He taught music at Moran School on Bainbridge Island and at the Lakeside School. He played organ at
the Rhodes department store for 10 years during lunches
and dinners. He was the organist for several area churches including seven years at the Grace Methodist
Church in Seattle. He was also the staff musician for Radio Station KXA.
 
During World War II, he was hired by the military to play during welcoming ceremonies for returning
soldiers.
