Gary Christiansen was Sunday organist at Bellevue Pizza & Pipes in the late 80's and early 90's. On occasion he would invite fellow jazz musicians to play the music of Miles Davis, Bill Evans, and others. Gary started playing theatre organ at Big Bob's Pizza in Federal Way and later, Big Bob's Pipe Dream in Burien. Gary was married to owner Bob Koons' daughter Nancy.
 
Gary never considered himself a conventional theatre organist, but rather a Jazz Organist. He was known for improvision and never played the same arrangement twice. Gary's friends and contemporaries were John Seng, Dan Bellomy, Dick Kimball, and Mike Koons.
