In 1956, Franklin acquired a 2/8 Wurlitzer organ that was originally from a theatre (name unknown) in Corvallis, Oregon installed in 1922. Over the years Franklin installed the instrument in three of his residences plus a church. More information here.
 
In addition to his work as a radio engineer, Franklin was involved in the acquisition and installation of a 3/8 Morton at Uncles Pizza restaurant in Anchorage. He also performed as an organist there for several years.
