The first Vancouver Strand Theatre was located at 36 W. Hastings St. The Strand operated at this location for a very short period of time. The Henderson City Directories for Vancouver list the Strand Theatre at this location only in 1916. However, the Directories list other theatres occupying the space in the years prior: Electric (1910-1912), Panama (1913), and Regal (1914). In 1915, the space is listed as "vacant."
 
The Strand building was demolished in 1916 along with several other structures to make way for the new Pantages Theatre.
 
According to the PSTOS Bill Bunch/Eugene Nye records, a 2/12 Warren & Sons organ was installed at the "Strand Theatre" in 1914. Fate of this instrument is unknown.
