For technical facts and figures Eugene M. Nye had no equal. A dedicated organist, organ buff and organ builder, he was perhaps one of the busiest organ men in Seattle. When he wasn't doing advanced teaching or playing services in one of the seven mortuaries on his regular list of calls, he spent his time as Tonal Director for Balcom & Vaughan. He also played for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, where there was a 41-rank rebuilt Austin with new pipework made to his specifications by D. A. Flentrop. During his spare moments, he produced complex, incredibly detailed records of Seattle theatre organs. |
